My Thoughts on Resolutions

It's coming up to that time of year where some people start attempting to make up a list of resolutions for the upcoming year. I won't be one of those people. Why? I don't believe in committing oneself to something on such a long-term basis.

Yes, I would like to tone up my tummy, learn new craft skills, love myself more and all of that jazz, but things like that will come gradually and in time, more importantly they will come naturally as I make better, more informed choices about things.

In September I published a list of things I wanted to do in my 30th year. I admit that I haven't done all of them yet, but when the 6 months to go marker pops up, I will update you with how things are going. 2012 was a big year of change for me, good and bad. And also go through adaptations, as nothing should be set in stone!

I think 2013 will be a good year too, 2012 has taught me an awful lot. I'm lucky to be where I am now in my life and with my job, having come so far from this time last year.

What are your thoughts on all of this?

    1. I don't see the point in making promises to myself that I cannot keep!

  2. I never make new years resolutions. I make changes and adapt as I go through the year. usually resolutions are about giving up. I just think that's negative.

I hit 40 last year and had a complete change of direction. 2012 was formative for me. Onwards, upwards and looking forward to 2013 and the opportunities it gives.
    Best Wishes.
