Crafts in Brighton – Hillaryscrafternoon

Crafternoon Brighton 2015

Last year, Hillarys Blinds ran a Christmas crafternoon in Brighton. It was a fun event, and I met some great people. This year, to launch the new Jewel range, Hillarys are running crafternoons around the country. Brighton was the first, and I attended. Here’s how it went!

The crafternoon was held at Marwood Coffee Shop on a cloudy September Sunday afternoon. I was really looking forward to seeing what the people from The Crafty Hen had planned to show us – all I knew was that they’d be creating something with something from Hillarys.

Teas, coffees, and other drinks were ordered. We found cut that we were going to make a jewellery box and accessories with the new Hillarys Blinds The Jewel Edit collection. The designers at Hillarys always look at predicted trends for the home, and The Jewel Edit collection features deep burgundys, dark blues, golden ambers and sumptuous greens.

We got working on our jewellery boxes – I chose to use the ‘Bohemia Berry’ fabric with matching burgundy and dark silver ribbon and buttons.

We also made accessories to go into the jewellery boxes – I’ve worn my brooch a lot, but not managed to get a photo of it yet! We again used the fabric from The Jewel Edit and I made a brooch made of fabric yoyos!

Here’s my jewellery box, some of the yummy savoury muffins we enjoyed, and one of my soy lattes!

Thanks so much for Hillarys for inviting me along to the crafternoon, I have a really chilled afternoon with some lovely Brighton bloggers. Sometimes you just need to sit, chill and craft the afternoon away!

If you’ve not read about my experience of last year’s Hillarys Christmas crafternoon in Brighton, go read about it!!

I’m hoping to post more crafts on here once I’ve (yet again) moved home. I’ve got some pages of my new Happy Planner to show you all too – do any of you have a planner? And if so, do you decorate yours?
