Blackboard seems to be in at the moment and I thought that it would be fun to make a frame that I can use to write messages and inspiring quotes on.
I used an old frame that I had and bought some blackboard sticky back plastic and chalk markers to create it. Then I got to work. It was incredibly simple to do, but I thought I’d show you how I made it anyway.
As you can see it’s pretty simple – I think that the most difficult part was making sure that there were no bubbles between the sticky back plastic and the glass. I bought the blackboard foil* and chalk markers* from Amazon and I love the chalk markers, they are Uniball and write really well. With this kind of marker and foil, you need to remember that they are wipe clean – easy to do with a damp cloth.
I’m not sure what DIY project I’m going to do next, I’m going to have a look through projects on my Pinterest boards (are you following me on there yet? If not, you should!) and see what piques my interest next.
Hope you like my DIY blackboard frame project and please let me know if there’s anything crafty that you’d like me to show you how to do.
This is an absolutely brilliant idea! I didn't realise blackboard sticky-back plastic was a thing! X
I didn't until I stumbled upon it last year! I am glad that you like the idea 🙂
