I’ve tried lots of vegan chicken through years that I’ve been vegan; from Bok Shop, Quorn vegan nuggets, Fry’s, and Temple of Seitan, however, it took me a while to decide to make my own at home. And do you know what? It’s pretty simple to make, is cheap, and the recipe I’m about to share with you has a great yield!
Vegan Southern Fried Chicken Recipe
This recipe is pretty simple, especially since I used a food processor. If you don’t have a food processor, blender or hand mixer, this recipe will take a lot longer as you will need to hand mix the wet ingredients so that they will be smooth enough to mix with the dry ingredients.
Whether you choose to cut the seitan chicken pieces down to nuggets, strips, or popcorn pieces, they will be delicious and crispy, and the perfect chicken substitute for vegans, veggies and those looking to cut down their meat consumption.
Serving suggestions: enjoy the southern fried steaks on top of a salad, as ‘chicken’ parm, or in a burger. Serve the nuggets or popcorn pieces with chips, potato wedges, or potato waffles.
