Start Summer With Aperol – Brighton!

It’s finally beginning to feel like summer! Here in Brighton, summer is all about meeting friends after work at the beach or pub, and enjoying a few drinks and some delicious food.

There’s no end to the choice of places you could go in this fair city for a drink, dinner, or both (check out some of my Brighton restaurant reviews), but if you’re in the city the latter part of this coming week (2-4th July) , or at the end of July (30th July-1st August) then pop along to Jubilee Square as Aperol will be there, complete with a pop up bar, Instaprint booth, treasure hunt, ping pong, and foosball tables. There will also be a rickshaw taking people around the city, and Radio 1’s Clara Amfo will be opening the event with a DJ set on Thursday 2nd July.

Aperol kindly invited me to the Brighton launch of the Aperol Social events. They fed us with scrummy food (see above) and watered us with numerous Aprerol Spritzes (see above too!). We also learnt how to make the perfect Aperol Spritz, and tried to make the fastest one too!!

If you want to make the Aperol Spritz at home, here’s the recipe!

Aperol Spritz

Serves: 1
Fill a large glass with ice.
Then fill with the following:

·                3 parts Prosecco (75 ml)

·                2 parts Aperol (50 ml)

·                1 dash of Soda Water (25 ml)

Garnish with a slice of fresh orange, sit back, relax and enjoy.

There are also a number of other cocktails you can make with Aperol, such as an Amber Road (featuring bourbon, lemon juice, Angostura bitters, mint, soda, and maple syrup), in a Negroni (swapping out the Campari for Aperol, gin, and vermouth), drinking it on the rocks, or with vodka.

If you don’t live in or won’t be visiting Brighton when Aperol are in town, then they are also visiting London and Bristol. Check the Aperol Spritz Facebook page for more details.
