True Tea Club Review

New Tea Subscription Box – The True Tea Club

If you’ve read my post on subscriptions for self care, you’ll see that I do love a good tea subscription! When the people at The True Tea Club got in touch with me asking whether I wanted to review one of their boxes, I jumped at the chance!

True Tea Club Subscription Box

About The True Tea Club

The True Tea Club is based in York, North Yorkshire, and they provide a monthly subscription of high quality loose teas. They work with small, grassroots suppliers to provide unique and special flavoured teas for subscribers to enjoy.

On the 20th of each month, they dispatch subscriptions to monthly (global) subscribers – and guess what? Subscribers can choose the type of tea that they receive; be it black tea, fruity tea, white tea, green tea, light tea, or refreshing tea! You can also make sure that your tea is dairy free, vegan, decaffeinated, or nut free.

There are 3 different types of subscription to choose from:

Standard: 40 cups of tea per box, £10 a month

Premium: 60 cups of tea per box, £15 a month

Deluxe: 80 cups of tea per box, £20 a month

Each subscription comes with a guide to brewing the teas, and also some drawstring teabags, which are perfect for taking your tea on the go. You can also add an extra to your subscription; a teaspoon for £3.85 or a teacup infuser for £8, so if you don’t currently have something for brewing loose tea, or you’re giving the subscription as a gift, you can!

I’m now going to run through the teas I was sent:

Tropical Sundance

Tropical Sundance Fruit Tea

The True Tea Club  describes Tropical Sundance as:

‘an exotic sencha green tea which provides a rich bodied tropical experience. As the flavors set in motion, the pineapple pieces dominate the sand-filled dance floor as they are effortlessly serenaded by smooth coconut pieces and sunflower petals.’

Type of tea: Fruity Green (Sencha)

My thoughts: This was a really nice variation of green tea; I really loved how fruity the tea is, and is a really nice boost when you hit that 3pm lull!

Rainbow Chaser

Rainbow Chaser Tea

Rainbow Chaser tea is described by The True Tea Club as:

‘a magical concoction of apple pieces, blackberry leaves, peppermint and orange peel.’

Type of tea: Fruit

My thoughts: Not only is this tea pretty, but it tastes pretty good! I love the fruit and mint combination.

Orange Crush

Orange Crush Tea

Orange Crush is a black tea, described by The True Tea Club as:

‘super charged with a juggernaut of orange slices and cardamon pods.’

Type of tea: Black

My thoughts: This is delicious! It recommends trying this tea out with a splash of milk… although I’m going one step further and debating giving it a go with some chocolate Oatly!

Antique Romance

Antique Romance Tea

The True Tea Club describes Antique Romance as:

‘quite simply, an auctioneer’s dream. There is no reserve on this vintage implosion of almonds. The gavel goes down as the freshness of hibiscus blossoms beckon.’

Type of tea: Fruit

My thoughts: This is my favourite tea from the box – it smells and tastes absolutely heavenly! The combination of almond and hibiscus makes this tea a fragrant delight.
