August 2017 has been an exciting and emotional month for me – how about you? I’ve had lots and lots to enjoy – life moments, travel, and much more. I thought I’d document what I’ve been loving during August 2017, and hope to continue to share the joy, laughter and things I’ve experienced each month from now on.
What have I been loving in August 2017?
We Got Married!
One of the big things this month is that I got married. I’ll be talking more about our low budget, vegan friendly, short notice wedding in a blog post soon!
Our Honeymoon
We went away on honeymoon this month – we had a city break in Glasgow and Edinburgh and ate allllll the food! I’ve already reviewed Bread Meats Bread’s vegan options, and there’ll be more honeymoon foodie goodness coming up shortly! We didn’t just eat lots on our honeymoon – we enjoyed a heck of a lot of culture, visiting lots of museums, galleries and tourist spots… and relaxed, of course!
Food Favourites
I’ve eaten a LOT this month. And it has been bloody good fun.
Places I’ve enjoyed eating at have included: Bread Meats Bread, Rose and Grants, Hanoi Bike Shed, Ranjit’s Kitchen, Dishoom, Fatto a Mano, Purezza, Food for Friends, and we’ve had a few take aways! There will be a review on almost all of those aforementioned eateries over the next month or so; make sure to keep an eye out if you want to know more about any of them!
I’ve also been loving on the vegan friendly sweeties in Sugar Sin – one of Brighton’s newest sweet shops!

Cute Custom Cross Stitches
Our friends run a company called TwinMade (check out the TwinMade Etsy*!) which is an Etsy shop, but there’s also workshops run from their container at The Bone Yard in Cardiff. Ed and Charlotte from TwinMade came to our wedding and gave us this awesome cross stitched gift of myself, my husband, and our dog, Mackey.
The Return of Lucky Dip Club
I’m so glad that Lucky Dip Club is back! After a brief hiatus, Leona is back, and the boxes are better than ever! I missed out on a sub for the first box, but started my subscription on the second box, which I received last week and LOVED. I’ve opted for the combo subscription, which for £10 a month includes a themed pin and pair of socks (plus postage is included), both designed by a chosen independent designer. There have also been 2 larger Rainbow Life boxes – 1 being a gorgeous ‘Treat Yo’self’ tray designed by Little Arrow, and the other being this awesome bag designed by Hello DODO*, both of which I ordered, own and love!

Hooray for an excellent August – hooray for being married. I loved your dress and seeing all the photos. I’m thinking I might plan an Autumn drip up north to Scotland, I’ve not been since primary school and really want to visit again. August has been a great month, fingers crossed September is good too and the weather stay warmish…a girl can dream!
