It’s ‘Stir up Sunday’ soon, which is traditionally the day when Christmas puddings are made at home. In anticipation of this, John Lewis kindly invited myself and a group of other bloggers to Waitrose Cookery School to learn how to make our own Christmas puddings – mine being vegan, of course. We also had a delicious Christmas themed meal, and learnt how to make a delicious Winter Negroni cocktail – more on those to follow!
By now, you must know the news – Wagamama have launched a vegan menu! It’s a separate menu, featuring all of your veggie and vegan Waga faves, plus some delicious new additions to meet the needs of the fast-growing vegan population here in the UK.
Myself and the non-vegan co-diner were invited to an event to celebrate the menu launch, on launch night, to see what we thought about it all!
I’ve been going to Purezza since they first launched, and they’ve gone through quite a few menu improvements and physical restaurant improvements over the last couple of years. However, I’d not been since the last facelift, so was excited to be invited to give their newest menu a try! And yes, I brought my non-vegan co-diner with me!
Now, Purezza sell themselves as ‘plant pioneers’ – unlike some of the vegan pizza places in Brighton that I’ve previously reviewed (such as Morelli Zorelli and Fatto a Mano), Purezza is purely plant based, so everything served there is vegan. So if you’re vegan, have dairy or egg allergy or intolerance, you need not worry about cross contamination or anything like that – Purezza is safe for you. They also have lots of lovely gluten free options, so if you’re a gluten free vegan, or just looking for good gluten free pizza in Brighton, you’re in luck here!

A few weeks ago I received a secret invitation to a secret event… by Ben and Jerry’s. Now, me being me, I made sure to ask whether there would be vegan food available, since, you know, I write a vegan blog! I was assured that yes, there would be, and from then on I had to keep my mouth shut while my tummy rumbled, and my brain tried to figure out which flavours would be launched.
Roll on Wednesday 6th September 2017. The d-date…9am, and the news dropped via Ben and Jerry’s Twitter account. The Twittersphere went nuts! And likely so. I then spent the whole day at work dreaming of the event coming up that evening – I knew the flavours now, but what would they taste like, and where could I get them from?!
